Military Service Recognition – The City of Yorba Linda honors the men and women serving in the Armed Forces.

The City of Yorba Linda proudly offers two programs to honor our local military service men and women. The Military Street Banner Program is designed to honor active-duty personnel currently serving in the armed forces, and the Veteran Flag and Banner Program is designed to honor veterans who have previously served in the armed forces.

Military Banner Program

The Military Banner Program is designed to honor and recognize Yorba Linda Gold Star and active duty military personnel. Military banners are displayed on light poles along sections of Yorba Linda Boulevard, beginning at Valley View Avenue and continuing east. Each banner will list the honoree’s name and the military branch in which the honoree serves.

Eligibility

The designated honoree must be currently serving as active duty in a full-time capacity in the United States Armed Forces (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, National Guard, or Navy) and currently reside in Yorba Linda or have an immediate family member (parent, spouse, son, daughter, or grandparent) residing in Yorba Linda.

These banners will be on display through mid-June 2025.

Application Process

Applications for the 2025/2026 program will be available in early 2025.

Veteran Flag & Banner Program

Are you, or a member of your family, a veteran? This program is designed to honor and recognize Veterans living in Yorba Linda. The Veterans banners are 18″ x 48″ and are designed to be displayed on residences by affixing the banner to the eaves of the structure, patio cover, overhang, or other method. The flags are 3′ x 5′ and can be displayed using a traditional flag pole that many people use to display seasonal banners. Each flag/banner will state “A Yorba Linda Veteran Lives Here” and will have the logo of the military branch in which the veteran served. Banners are $25 each, and flags are $30 each.

Eligibility

Veterans who have served this country in the United States Armed Forces (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Navy, or Marines) and currently reside in Yorba Linda are eligible to participate in this program. Only one banner or flag is allowed per residence.

Display Information

Banners or flags may be displayed indefinitely but must be removed once they become worn and/or tattered.

Purchase Information

Banners and flags make great gifts that show community pride and support for veterans. They can be purchased for friends or family members who reside in Yorba Linda.
